This event is designed as a platform to discuss the challenges facing Arab women in ICT a to consider the mechanisms and actions to integrate these technologies to strengthen the position of women in Arab society, to influence their thinking in many areas of life, or receive support in the fight against gender discrimination, reports MAP.
Some 20 Arab countries will take part in the Summit namely Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Somalia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Oman, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Mauritania and Yemen.
Initiated by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the research firm IDC North Africa, this meeting will address regional needs and technology issues as they affect women's place in society and gender equality issues in the Arab countries.
